Dare to Dazzle
Dare to Dazzle is a modern beauty website built with WordPress. I partnered with a developer to create a sleek, accessible, and content-rich experience using real-world data. The site showcases my ability to build scalable, theme-driven websites with a strong editorial structure, custom post types, and dynamic layouts.
My Role
As the designer and content strategist, I led the site’s visual design, content architecture, and front-end implementation. My contributions included:
- Designing the theme from scratch using the Create Block Theme plugin
- Creating a custom post type for “Makeup Brands” using CPT UI and Advanced Custom Fields
- Populating all posts with real, cleaned content sourced from public domains (e.g., Wikipedia)
- Designing the site logo, consistent feature images, and custom layouts using Kadence Blocks Pro
Custom Block Theme Creation
Tool: Create Block Theme plugin
I built the theme from scratch using WordPress’s block-based approach, defining typography, layout structure, and reusable design elements.

Real Content Strategy
Sources: Wikipedia, verified web content
I curated real-world content, cleaned it up (removed footnotes/links), and structured it clearly for users.

Custom Post Type: Makeup Brands
Tool: Custom Post Type UI + ACF
I created a custom post type for “Makeup Brands” with custom fields like rating, origin, and endorsements, allowing scalable structured content.

Dynamic Content Display
Kadence Blocks Pro
I used Kadence Blocks to dynamically output content with visual flexibility — no coding required.

Optimized Imagery
WebP conversion, consistent sizing
All featured images were optimized for performance (WebP, no scaling up) and styled consistently across all post types.

Facilitated Collaboration
Google Sheets
To manage collaboration effectively, I built a structured task board in Google Sheets to track every step. The sheet clearly assigned tasks and timelines between me and my developer partner, reducing back-and-forth and keeping progress transparent.
